The Board recognizes the importance of developing, improving and extending staff skills and ongoing opportunities must be provided to ensure that staff personnel remain abreast of emerging information and technical knowledge through such means as:

1.    Planned inservice programs and workshops are offered within the school system from time to time.  The dates of all inservice programs shall be included in the District or individual school calendar.

2.    Released time for visits to other classrooms and schools and for attendance at conferences, workshops and other professional meetings.

3.    Sabbaticals and other approved leaves of absence for advanced educational training.

4.    Salary credit for additional educational training in accordance with the salary schedule.

The superintendent shall have authority to approve released time for conferences and visitations and reimbursements for expenses, provided such activities are within budget allocations for that purpose.
