File: JGA - Assignment of New Students to Classes and Grade Levels

New students entering from public schools, private schools and on-line programs accredited by the Colorado Department of Education shall be placed in grades and classes on the basis of their grade placement/credits in the school from which they are transferring.

The district administration, through academic achievement tests and other evaluation measures as found necessary, shall determine the appropriate grade level/credit status of students transferring from home schools, private schools and on-line -programs that have not been accredited by the Colorado Department of Education. Such students must demonstrate proficiency in the district-adopted content standards at their appropriate placement level.
