All full-time 12-month support staff employees and their families shall be eligible for the District's health care insurance plan on the first day of the next month following 30 days of employment with the District. The particular plan offered shall be subject to Board approval.
Less than full-time employees and their families who qualify shall be eligible for the District's health care insurance plan by payroll deduction on the first day of the next month following 30 days employment with the District. The plan offered shall be subject to Board approval.
School District employees shall participate in the Public Employees" Retirement Association in which both the employee and the School District make monthly contributions.
Support Staff Service Award
Compensates qualified support staff members based on their years of employment with the District.>
For support staff employees that have 11 completed years of consecutive service with the Summit School District, an additional amount will be added to the hourly rate of that individuals pay representing our service award program.
An employee must have a minimum of 11 and a maximum of 30 years of completed continuous regularly scheduled service in Summit School District prior to receiving the service award. For the purposes of the Service Award Program, a year of service is considered a regularly scheduled position of 20 or more hours per years in Summit School District for at least 135 days of an academic year. For the purposes of eligibility, the following items apply.
Only years as a support staff member count towards eligibility for the service award program.
The years of service must be continuous (consecutive).
PERA retirees are not eligible to receive a service award.
The support staff member's service award amount shall be added to the hourly rate of pay for the support staff member and shall be calculated as follows. The below Service Award will be applied to the support staff member's hourly rate of pay:

The regular hourly rate of pay for support staff members will not exceed the maximum hourly rate published on the support staff salary schedule plus his/her earned service award. Support staff members that are earning an hourly rate of pay at the established maximum will not receive a lump sum amount reflecting an increase for the following school year.
Workers' Compensation
All District employees are covered under the Workers" Compensation Insurance Plan and shall be entitled to all the prescribed benefits.
