Teacher Professional Standards

1.    The school professional designs and implements instruction to meet the unique needs of students.

2.    The school professional consistently demonstrates the basic components of effective instruction and/or uses other instructional models as appropriate.

3.    The school professional provides a program of instruction or training in accordance with the adopted curriculum and consistent with District content standards, federal, and state regulations.

4.    The school professional is responsible for advancing student achievement.

5.    School professionals are knowledgeable about their content area and District learning standards.

6.    The school professional recognizes, develops, and maintains an instructional environment conducive to student well-being.

7.    The school professional communicates with students and families concerning student academic and behavioral progress.

8.    The school professional assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, Board of Education policies, and federal and state rules and regulations, and adheres to licensure standards, as provided in the Certificated Personnel Evaluation Guidelines.

9.    The school professional maintains records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations in a timely and confidential manner.

10.    The school professional demonstrates cooperative relationships with others.

11.    The school professional exhibits professional conduct.

12.    The school professional focuses on ongoing professional growth.
