File:  GBGD - Workers' Compensation

As required by law, Summit School District carries Workers' Compensation insurance covering all employees of the district.  Should an employee be injured while at work and the accident is within the scope and course of his/her employment, he/she is entitled to the benefits provided by the Workers' Compensation Law provided that such injury is reported in writing to the employee's immediate supervisor as soon as possible, but in no event later than four working days after the injury.  Pursuant to state law, disability benefits will be reduced if the accident is the result of the use of alcohol or controlled substances.

Information concerning the Colorado Workers' Compensation Law shall be posted in each building pursuant to Colorado State Statutes.
