Definitions

1.  A full-time classified employee is one who works at least a 37 1/2 -hour week in one assigned position for at least 9 months and 1 week in a fiscal year.

2.  A part-time classified employee is one who works less than seven & half (7 1/2) hours but at least four or more hours in a 24 hour day in one assigned position.  An employee may work two or more positions for the district provided that one position does not interfere with another and the supervisor(s) of both positions and the district Superintendent are all in agreement with the employment.  Two or more part-time positions can be used to raise the employee to full-time classified status.  In case of an emergency an employee may be released without pay from one position within the District to work in another position within the District per appropriate pay grade.  Request for emergency coverage must come from the receiving supervisor and be approved by the releasing supervisor.

3.  A limited part-time classified employee is one who works less than four hours per day in an assigned position.

4.  A short-term classified employee is one who is employed to perform a service for the district for not less than one month nor longer than 195 working days, including holidays, sick leave, vacation and other leaves of absence, upon the completion of which the service will not be extended or needed on a continuing basis, or who performs seasonal or emergency work.

5.  A temporary classified employee is one who is employed for less than one calendar month, a full-time day student employed part-time, a day-to-day substitute or a noon supervisor.

6.  A substitute classified employee is one who takes the place of an absent employee for less than 30 calendar days.  Effective the first day following 30 school days of a single continuous assignment, a substitute employee shall be classified as a long-term substitute and shall be paid the rate of pay as established by the district for that position.
