File: IHAQ - Career/Transition-to-Work EducationThe Board believes that the inclusion of career and technical education in the basic curriculum will provide students with information about the many career opportunities available and will establish a relationship between what is taught in the classroom and the world of work.
The Board therefore commits itself to a meaningful program of career and technical education for all students attending the schools of the district and charges the superintendent with the responsibility for the implementation of such a program.
Career and technical education should start at the earliest levels possible. At the secondary level it should incorporate career exploration, career guidance and training opportunities. The latter shall equip students to enter post-secondary training for occupational areas and/or enter specific occupations directly out of high school.
